Jewelry Trends 2010: Jewelry Trends At The ENK Show 2010

The ENK show features jewelry, handbags, shoes, clothing lines, and head wear.  I was mostly focused on the jewelry but it’s always exciting to see who is exhibiting and take a sneak peak at thier latest collections.  I wanted to share with you some of the top trends I saw, for jewelry

1.Swarovski crystals were everywhere… mixed with leather, fabric, string, chains, ect… Swarovski just came out with a new line of irregularly shaped and faceted stones and they were all over the trade show.

2.Long layered bulky necklaces. Just pile it on in different lengths and you will be in style for the coming season. The more the better.

3.Organic geometry- Geometric shapes in soft/organic forms. Bracelets made out of rounded edge squares and bent circles. Shapes with movement!

4.BoHo chic/Yoga inspired jewelry- think MeandRo with colored leathers and seed bead embroidery. Earthy and layered.

5.Bangle bracelets- I feel the Cuff was a major player last year and this year expect the bangle bracelet to make a comeback! Acrylic, enameled, mixed metals, embellished, personalized…I saw it all!

6.Mixed Media…Symmetry no longer matters- the more asymmetrical the better! Mix and match chains, charms, leathers, big and small elements. This applies to necklaces, bracelets, and earrings.

7.Nature inspired jewelry- this trend has always been big for independent jewelry designers but expect to see it going more main stream. Winged pendants, twiggy rings, bugs on chains, and leafy hoops.

8.Nostalgic/Antique jewelry- Jewelry from the past is new again. Fobs in oxidized metals, heart lockets with an updated twist, antique keys on long leather necklaces.

9. Wire Jewelry – anything with wire. Wire  Jewelry can be unique and is usually each piece is one of a kind and hand made. Uses silver, gold, copper wire.
